Hurricane Fred update
The bad news: Tropical Storm Fred will become Hurricane Fred at some point Wednesday night.
The good news: neither TS Fred or Hurricane Fred will bother any Caribbean islands. The storm is tracking almost due north right now and will continue to travel towards the Northern Atlantic and into cold waters where it will eventually fissle out.
This is really good news because Freds a pretty powerful storm right now. Wind speed may top 90 MPH.
The other good news is that this is another storm that passed by the Caribbean without doing damage. September is the height of the hurricane season and if we can make it through with this trend of storms going north and northeast of the Caribbean, it might just be one of the quietest storm seasons on record.
As always - stay tuned to NOAA's Hurricane Center.
