Sandals Plans Big Changes For Bahamas Resort
(August 26) Sandals Resorts International has big plans for their new purchase of Four Seasons Resort Great Exuma at Emerald Bay.This past Monday, Sandals Resorts International announced that it would purchase a high end resort on Great Exuma in the Bahamas that had closed earlier this year due to the recession. CEO Adam Steward says that Sandals plans to reopen the 500 acre resort in January 2010 after at least a $12 million upgrade.
The existing property includes 183 suites, an 18-hole golf course and a 133-slip marina. Stewart told The Associated Press that Sandals plans to add outdoor cabanas for spa treatments, a British pub, piano bar, retail arcade and a half-acre swimming pool.
